You only need 1 valid ID ( at least from my experience, they have only asked for 1 valid ID) and money ( for manual application). I didn't have the old NBI Clearance, so it's okay. Even with renewal, you still need to fill up the same form. The fee depends on what kind or for what purpose the NBI Clearance is for.

I've gone thru both manual application and online application within the same week. Funny huh! But this was before I discovered the online application. I must tell you that the manual application take a lot of your time. So, I am suggesting to get an online application instead. I needed one for my US Visa Application to submit to the NVC. I live here in Pampanga and their NBI Clearance is located in San Fernando. So, I went there and oh boy! there must have been around 200 people. It took me at least 3 hours to finish which is not new to me. It was more than 20 years ago the first time I had my NBI Clearance for local employment. It was so slow then and so as it is still the same now. In my case, I always have a "HIT" or "NAMESAKE", so I always have to wait 3 to 4 weeks to get it and I thought this was way back in the 90's or earlier before our technology was not that great. I never understood before why it took them that long to review and I still don't understand it now. But oh well! And so I finished. I applied June 20, 2013 and since I have a "HIT", they asked me to come back for the release on July 22, 2013! What???? From what I read online, it only takes about a week or less for the release if you have a "HIT" or same day if you don't. It was so frustrating!
When I came home and talked to my husband, he was so frustrated as I was. We both decided that I come to the main NBI Office in Taft Avenue to get a copy since it will only take 7 days to release if you have a "hit". I called the office to clarify before I make the journey and so it was confirmed. It take 7 to 8 days. I read more online and that's when I discovered about the online application. I followed the step by step procedure. Unfortunately, they only accept two mode of payments: GCASH & PERA PADALA (from Cebuana Lhuiller). I made the payment using GCash and it was not a very good experience, but that was a different part of the so called BAD EXPERIENCE (I will make a blog on that one too! LOL!) Bottom line is, do not use GCASH if you don't have an existing one. There are a lot of Cebuana Lhuiller nowadays. USE IT INSTEAD!
I had my QR Code printout with me. My booking time was 8 in the morning. Unfortunately, with all the traffic and less bus from the bus station, I didn't get there until 10 in the morning. I was amazed to see how many people are falling in line to get their NBI Clearance ( I am referring to manual application ). I went straight to the 4th floor and found less than 20 people waiting who happened to have their online application like me. It was quick. For one, when you do the online application, they only have to pull out your information using the QR Code, so all you have to do is the finger prints and the picture taking and you are DONE! I was told to come back after 7 days. It was indicated in the receipt as to what date you will need to pick up your Clearance and some, they pick it up the same time, just right after the picture taking. They will print it out few minutes after. From what I remember, for those who do not have a "HIT" on their names, they are being sent to the 3rd floor of the building to pick it up. For those that have a "HIT" on their names, like me, I had to come back on a specified date and pick it up on the ground floor.
For those who have "HIT" on their names, you need to be in the office as early as possible. Why? I didn't know this at first. You may thought that it would only be "IN and OUT" process when you pick up your Clearance. You have to go through an interview. How long it takes? It depends on how many people are in the line for interview. But I suggest, the early you come, the better! I happened to talk to one lady while waiting for my turn to call in the interview room. She applied for NBI Clearance in Robinson's. She was told to come back after a week for the release of her clearance. She went back to Robinson's only to find out that she needs to go to the Main Office ( Taft Ave ) for the interview. They could have told her beforehand.
Well, it took me about an hour to finally get the printout of my NBI Clearance. (Sigh!)
